Mission Focus for June – WWCT

This Month’s Mission Focus is on The Women’s Worker’s Training Centre in Southern India. This is a project which focuses particularly on the holistic development and empowerment of women and girls in an area of rural deprivation, whilst also supporting the wider community.

This is a Church of South India (CSI) project, supporting 67 villages and run by the CSI Order of Sisters. The Church on the Heath has been supporting WWTC since 2006 when Helen Ledger, a member of the Church, went there on a six-month placement.

The project focuses particularly on the holistic development and empowerment of women and girls in an area of rural deprivation, whilst also supporting the wider community.

Please pray for:

  • The good recovery of Rev. Sister Chellakani following a fall when she received a bad cut to her head.  She is the elder sister at WWTC and in her 70′s . She leads the Bible school training for the Trainees.
  • Support for Sister Kasthuri, the Superintendent, in her huge workload.
  • Year 12 girls in the Magich IIlam boarding home, who have ALL just passed their final school years exams and now plan for their future , college, training and etc. Pray that their families will support the girls in Further and higher education and not want to arrange early marriages .
  • Bible/ vocational course Trainees as they approach their final term at WWTC and take exams in typing, computing, sewing and embroidery.  Pray that they will find work following their graduation.
  • The process of looking for the next year’s intake of Trainees on the one year Bible/ vocational course .
  • The flaming June Curry nights hosted by members of CotH to raise money for WWTC.
