> GETTING INVOLVED

We are a church which encourages people to get involved and gives people opportunities to use their gifts and talents.

For more information on this, pick up a leaflet at church or speak to the Church Secretary Rosemary Beal-Preston who coordinates the rotas for services and other activities.

> MOTHERS' UNION

The aim and purpose of the Mothers' Union is to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by the transformation of communities worldwide through the nurture of family in its many forms.

Mothers' Union members do this by working towards five objectives.

  • supporting and promoting marriage
  • encouraging parents in their role to develop the faith of their children
  • maintaining a world wide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service
  • promoting conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children

MU on the Heath began in April 2007.  We are an active and growing branch focusing on projects rather than meetings, for example:

  • Bumps and Babies
  • Parenting courses
  • Toddler Praise
  • Welcoming parents to the health visitors' clinic
  • Refreshments at Noah's Ark toddler group
  • Meals and Squeals for parents with newborn babies
  • Delivering baptism anniversary cards
  • Knitting-Teddies for tragedies and tiny blankets for pre-term babies
