Sharing the good news Serving the community Growing as Christians As a new church we want to be defined not by a building or a set of activities, but by our relationships with God and with one another. We are committed to being a church which is: Forgiven by God and walking closely with Him Bible-based, drawing on God’s word in daily life Spirit-filled, depending on God’s Holy Spirit to invigorate and renew us Welcoming and inclusive, attracting new members Serving the community of Elvetham Heath and the wider world Relevant to the lives of local people Called to be a missionary congregation Committed to reaching all people with the good news of Jesus Christ Expectant, depending on God to do great things in the life of His church Alive, living the ‘life in all its fullness’ which Jesus offers Offering something for people of all ages Open to making changes and taking risks A blend of Christian traditions which is harmonious and united Generous in our giving of time and money Challenging our members and our community With God’s help we aim to grow in our Christian life and in numbers, remembering the example of the early church as described in Acts 2.42-47: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and their goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” |
