The Jerusalem and the Middle East Church Association (www.jmeca.org.uk) supports the ministry of the Anglican Church in the Middle East through prayer, sharing of information and funding. The dioceses within the region make a difference to the lives of the people who live there through worship and teaching, interfaith dialogue and via their educational, medical and welfare projects/institutions, which are run to support local communities, regardless of religion, nationality, gender, age or ability.

We have selected two of the diocesan medical institutions to support:

  1. Surgeons at work in the Al Ahli HospitalThe Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza in the Diocese of Jerusalem; the only hospital run by Christians in this very poor area. Our giving will provide vital medical supplies for the medical centre for diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
  2. The Harpur Memorial Hospital, Menouf and Sadat City, in the Diocese of Egypt which provides quality and affordable medical care to all. Our giving will help fund subsidies for poor patients so that no patient is ever turned away from medical treatment.

Current Prayer Needs:

For stability to return to the Middle East

  • The Al Ahli Arab Hospital which is appealing for funding in order to┬áin order to maintain the power for critical equipment via emergency generators outside the 4 hours of the national power supply
  • The desperate situation of Christians fleeing from IS militants, for countries to provide refugee and peace building (read more)
  • Christians in Yemen who are suffering due to the lack of food, money and electricity as a result of the ongoing civil war.
