Small groups

Andrew Cullingford looks after the organisation of the small groups in the church, which are a very important part of our life together.

Around 100 people of all ages already participate in the wide variety of small groups which meet during the week either at the church or in local homes across Elvetham Heath and Fleet.

Worshipping together on Sunday is at the heart of our weekly programme at The Church on the Heath, but it is very hard to get to know everyone in a rapidly growing church. And that’s where home groups offer something special.

They provide an opportunity to meet regularly, in an informal atmosphere, with a small group of up to a dozen people. Together we take a look at what God says to us about everyday life through the Bible, while getting to know one another and having fun and – of course – enjoying some refreshments!E0962

The Church on the Heath currently has a variety of groups meeting on weekdays, including Monday mornings (with a crèche) and a Ladies Fellowship group on a Thursday morning, both in the Church building itself.

There are also several groups meeting weekly in people’s homes at 8 PM:

  • Tuesday two groups on the Heath (one for those aged around 20s/ 30s)
  • Wednesday at Ancells Farm, on the Heath (fortnightly) and two groups on Zebon Copse (one fortnightly)
  • Thursday in Fleet, Crookham Village and also on the Heath.

There is no expectation of existing Bible knowledge and no one is put on the spot!

Our groups have also taken a break before Easter so that we could all participate in the Lent Groups organised by Churches Together in Fleet and Crookham.

If you would like to try one of these groups, please contact the church office who will point you in the right direction, or speak to Andrew Cullingford after Church one Sunday.
