Current series: First John – Walking in God’s Light
Possibly the last of all the writings to be included in the bible, John’s letters were written to encourage churches to stay true to the central message of the Christian Faith: that Jesus came as a real person and died and rose again for the forgiveness of our sins. First John is a circular letter written to encourage believers to hold fast to this truth, reminding them that right belief leads to right action which, in turn, leads to true fellowship with God and other believers. As we study this letter, we will think about how we can walk in the light of God’s truth in the midst of the many temptations, distractions and erroneous ideas that surround us.
