Summer Term 2026
Series : From Ruin to Redemption - The Story of Ruth
The story of Ruth is a reminder that life is unpredictable and rarely works out the way we had planned it. But even when it leads through valleys of disappointment, and takes us to difficult and painful places, God can redeem what a the time might feel like loss, and weave it into his plans and purposes so there is blessing. Just four chapters long, almost seventy percent of the narrative is dialogue, and it is one of only two books named after women (the other being Esther).
In the story of Ruth there is so much that resonates with the sadness we find in our world today: hunger, grief, migration, families torn by loss, people asking ‘where is God in all this?’ But we also find in the story hope and redemption - a redemption that points to the coming of our Lord Jesus, in whose family tree we find included a woman from Moab named Ruth!
